For your information:
We offer examinations from Primary level with both Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).
The Royal Academy of Dance is an awarding body accredited by the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) by The Office of Qualifications & Examinations Regulations (Ofqual) in England, the Curriculum and Assessment Authority in Wales (ACCAC) and, in Northern Ireland, the Council for the Curriculum Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).
The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Grades 1 – 6 and Vocational exams are accredited by The Office of Qualifications & Examinations Regulations (Ofqual) in England.
Taking a dance exam is optional, however we do encourage it as we believe it helps the progress of each student, their physical and mental development as well as gaining self-confidence.
The criteria for taking an exam are not based on the length of time a student has attended the class BUT on the consistency and application of effort and memory retention of the work required at any given level. Dance is learnt through muscle memory and this can only be achieved over a length of time sadly there is “no quick fix”. Each student is assessed individually.
Leading up to the exams students must attend the extra coaching classes as well as their normal weekly lessons. |
